009-0004

08/08/1914

Letter from Mrs Ferencz László, née Nedda Lenkey (formerly an actress at the National Theatre in Budapest) asking for de László's help. She wants him to intervene on her behalf with the Hungarian Embassy or through his connections to contact István Bárczy, the Mayor of Budapest, to help her to get funds from Hungary. She has become stuck in Scotland at the outbreak of the war and is terrified, in the atmosphere of spy mania, of being interned as an enemy alien with her six year old son
