Partial letter (pages missing) From the Director of the London and New Art School, W. Francklyn Helmore, to de László asking the artist to reconsider his decision to leave his teaching role. De László had been teaching, without payment, for one morning a week at the school; he gave the portrait class for advanced students who planned to become professional painters. "I... can appreciate how hard it must be for you to give up the time, as you so generously have, in teaching students who are perhaps unworthy of your kindness from an artistic point of view", Helmore writes, "but, who, I know, feel an intense gratitude to you for all you have done for them"
