Losses/missing pages? Frau Carl Valentin (née Paula Laub), the artist’s youngest sister, known as Pauline, writes to de László about her journey back to Munich from London by way of Frankfurt. She thanks the artist profusely for his kindness, including a hamper from Harrods, which he had sent to Munich. She enjoyed spending Christmas with her brother and his children. Pauline has received her portrait [2817], which the artist forwarded on. "It lives, it breathes and reminds me of past days of beauty and... of the luck to have been able to share the experience of the art of a master in his temple", she writes (DLA015-0016 and DLA015-0017 were previously partial items that have now been merged into DLA015-0016.
