She agrees with Russell's "sensible" approach to de László's case, which is to show that he and Lucy had long-contemplated settling in England; Hall heard them express this desire in Vienna in 1907. She writes of her admiration for the artist's "unswerving adherence to the highest in everything, & his scrupulous sense of honour"
