007-0010

08/09/1913

Incensed letter from de László to the publishing house, Hutchinson & Co., regarding his and Oakley Williams' apparent "Agreement" to deliver a manuscript, illustrations and subscribers by the Spring of 1913 (see DLA007-0009). "The question of publication in the Spring of 1913 was never even under discussion", he writes. "I have been put to annoyance, serious expense, and to the loss of valuable time.... I have also postponed very important commissions in order to paint portraits which, in my judgment, are calculated to contribute to the success and interest of the book"
