    De László is painting a second portrait of the Queen of Romania [3211] having abandoned the first [2961], which he felt was overly opulent. He is also working on the portrait of King Ferdinand [4217]. A portrait of Lucy is mentioned. Item includes a small sketch in pen of the Queen's portrait [3211].

    A portrait of Lucy in the possession of Gyula Krämer, but belonging to de László, is mentioned. De László has finished a portrait of the King of Romania [4220] & started a portrait of the Crown Prince [4218]; he will paint two smaller pictures of the King [3225][3222]. [4220][3211] will be shown at the palace & then Paris Salon. De László & Lucy are planning to travel to Constantinople, Beirut & Jerusalem, intends to paint "impressions" there.

    Received a letter from Siklóssy about a photography exhibition at the Nemzeti Szalon on the British Empire, opened by Ambassador Knox. De László's royal portraits [9123][9126] have been reproduced widely. Reference to a picture of his that was "won by a poor man". Lucy thanks Marczi László for the Christmas present; she is sorry he is not spending Christmas with them.
