    Official commission from the Interior Ministry to paint the County Prefect. Will put off portraits of Légrády & Ferenczy to the summer as must paint the Romanian Royal Family [3211][4220][4217]. Will travel to Palestine with Lucy afterwards and sketch there. Hopes to receive the Corvin Chain. Working on memoirs.

    Partial letter. Wishes to reclaim a portrait of Lucy from Gyula. Travel plans to Romania – can meet Marczi on the train, but he must tell no-one that he (the artist) will be travelling through Pest. Does not like to paint portraits of friends. Believes he deserves the Corvin Chain.

    De László is painting a second portrait of the Queen of Romania [3211] having abandoned the first [2961], which he felt was overly opulent. He is also working on the portrait of King Ferdinand [4217]. A portrait of Lucy is mentioned. Item includes a small sketch in pen of the Queen's portrait [3211].

    A portrait of Lucy in the possession of Gyula Krämer, but belonging to de László, is mentioned. De László has finished a portrait of the King of Romania [4220] & started a portrait of the Crown Prince [4218]; he will paint two smaller pictures of the King [3225][3222]. [4220][3211] will be shown at the palace & then Paris Salon. De László & Lucy are planning to travel to Constantinople, Beirut & Jerusalem, intends to paint "impressions" there.

Partial letter 2: de László is planning to travel to Constantinople & Jerusalem, possibly returning via Greece. Asks Marczi László to order a gravestone & to tidy the grave of his daughter, Eva. He is painting Prime Minister Baldwin's wife [2324] & plans to paint the Prime Minister as well. (Envelope does not belong to the partial letters. DLA135-0070, DLA135-0071, DLA135-0072 & DLA135-0073 letters are in the same envelope.)
