    Letter from one of de László's few authorised copyists, Frederick Cullen, confirming receipt of de László's portrait of Mrs Harmsworth [6909]; he will start the copy [4751 or 4753] immediately. Also discusses a possible commission to copy de László's portrait of Lord Castlereagh [6147], which Cullen likes "very much". Since Lord Castlereagh does not wish to part with the original, the copy [6149] is to be made at Londonderry House; the fee for the copy is £40. Cullen's brother, a paper and board merchant, can arrange the manufacture of board should de László be interested

    Letter from one of de László's few authorised copyists, Frederick Cullen, confirming a commission from Lord Northcliffe to copy [4751 or 4753] de László's portrait of Mrs Harmsworth [6909]; he is very pleased as he was "afraid this dreadful war had stopped all such work." Cullen asks de László whether it should be painted on a smooth canvas, and proposes a new working method given the original has "a good deal of the surface board showing"

She wants him to intervene on her behalf with the Hungarian Embassy or through his connections to contact István Bárczy, the Mayor of Budapest, to help her to get funds from Hungary. She has become stuck in Scotland at the outbreak of the war and is terrified, in the atmosphere of spy mania, of being interned as an enemy alien with her six year old son

Refers to invitation he received from Gödöllő Group to join movement; it is an honour that de László has been in contact with the group
